God dammit, I didn’t ask the question. If we had a way to compile earning dates for tickers like a TOS calendar or something. But I answered it by saying we probably don’t care that much about 10-Q’s lmaooo
From first read this sounds like you’re saying that there isn’t material information in 10K’s and Q’s but how are we going to build a system capable of deciphering trading ideas without them?
It’s useful for the post earnings plays and for an accurate picture of company’s health I’d imagine no?
So I totally meant to do this last weekend and everyday this week since last VC. But as most know I follow post earnings and trade them solely for the most part. I’ve been trying to narrow down a list of key phrases or wording that we can target to scrape for the bot. It was harder than I first expected as frankly different companies word shit differently. But I think I’ve got it to a simplistic point that should catch most of the valid info. I’m by no means even remotely knowledgeable on programming so this may need to be altered as Conq or other programmers see fit.
1: “board of directors voted to approve” this should catch any divi increase special dividends buybacks etc.
2: Guidance “forward guidance adjusted” this should catch any adjustment in guidance up down or in between.
3: Buybacks “ x$ of share buybacks/repurchase” we all refer to them as buybacks but from what I have read a lot reference them as a share repurchase or even have witnessed shares referred to as units.
Also to note most of the things I have read reference “Above/below analysts expectations” this would be related to EPS, Growth, Guidance, Sales, and Revenue. They typically all reference analysts expectations. I’ll add to this as I see relevant
