I wanted to take a second and address the state of the community.
It’s pretty easy to see that the excitement has died down a little and that members are a little more frustrated than usual given the current market conditions. One of the things that we heard in our feedback and that I’ve been told a couple times now by people angry for whatever reason is that people are looking for more guidance and help with trading, specifically on which plays are actually viable and when to make entries and exits.

With that in mind, I wanted to remind everyone that we’re working on things that target these exact needs in a far better fashion than what we can do manually. They just unfortunately take time to build. For those that haven’t seen it, there is a rough blueprint of my vision for Valhalla in #general-discussionhere. The gist of which is that all those neat little commands that make @Mimir do useful things are a part of a much broader vision for a system that could streamline our community and make us all much more profitable than we’ve ever thought possible. This includes things as simple as piping news and filing alerts for tickers we care about into trading-floor and things as complex as automating “the methodology” and generating signals based off of it similar to how Tradytics works now (but a little better).
I think it’s no secret that I haven’t been as active on the trading side of the community for a little while now. To be honest, I haven’t actually been trading as much period as so much of my time has been dedicated to “the grand scheme”, however, that’s going to change in the coming weeks. I think we’re to a point where I can deleverage myself a little and start trading closer to full-time as I was a bit ago. Most of my efforts will be focused on working with the threads here on the forum to promote the incredible collaborative work we’ve seen naturally grow here, but I’ll also be more active in VC during the trading day alongside all the other talent that we have.
So don’t worry kids, Daddy isn’t gone for good, I’m just building you a Renaissance style Quant for Christmas, but I’ll be home soon. Make sure you’re ready for dinner, because we’re eating sushi in Valhalla.
Can’t wait, Papa! Was really excited to see some of the things that you teased. Tools to make us better traders from Conq and the team? Christmas come early to Valhalla
Thank you for the update and the dedication to the community. I am a recent member but I really like all the integrations that the Mimir has already and hearing you want to take it to another level is so encouraging.
I am not sure if there is more help that work left to be done given how many great members Valhalla has. I just want to offer my assistance with any coding or software development/testing if it’s needed of course.
Thanks for all of the effort you’re putting in here.
Really disappointed that some are getting angry with you or this community. We shouldn’t be here hoping to be spoonfed plays, or entry/exit points for those plays. It’s on the individuals here to contribute to or read through threads and decide whether or not to play them. Nobody can say for certain whether or not a play will be viable, and it’s not cool getting angry at whoever started the thread.
I think there’s a fine line between being spoonfed and being made aware. I think we all would like to avoid a hive mind, even if we can’t admit how good it feels when the trading floor is 500 people all making money off of one play. I don’t want to be told what to buy, I don’t need to be made aware of the risk of a trade, I have my own tolerance, and can think for myself, but being made aware is paramount.
The value of being in the discord and this forum is being able to at the very least follow the trail of bread crumbs from more experienced, successful traders than myself. There’s tremendous value in JB’s morning scalps, there’s tremendous value in Conq’s callouts, and just being made aware of when you take and close a position will save lives. There are some extremely sharp people in here but with 4000+ members, they’re not all gonna be sharks. It’s ok to be the fish that swim with the sharks, so long as you don’t ever become the bait.
Thanks for the update Conq! Looking forward to what you have in store for us. Thanks for your commitment to making this community great. There are so many of us here that greatly appreciate everything you guys are doing. Pure class
Thanks a lot for your efforts! Sorry to hear about the negative feedback. At the end of the day, we‘re all grown ups who should sort through the dd and data to make investment decisions that suit one‘s personal strategy/risk tolerance. That being said, looking forward to the xmas present!
