Ethereum classic is a fork of ethereum. I’m not going to go into a lot of detail on this but a fork is a copy of another chain after the copy has taken place as the transactions and development will be different from that moment on they are not alike.
Ethereum has a fraction of the devs and has suffered multiple sybil attacks (a malicious actor takes over the network and is able to alter transactions and steal money)
Its hot garbage its not “cheap eth”.
