I understand where you’re coming from. I think what’s being lost in translation is that we’re going from next to zero moderation to actually dedicated moderation so of course there’s going to be a period of “what the fuck is going on”. However, this is pushing things in the right direction.
Valhalla is the best trading community in existence… but it’s not actually a trading community first and foremost which is why it has such high appeal. The community side of Valhalla is why people stay. We’re friends, we’re a family. We have inside jokes and gags and we have a lot of fun, its that aspect that makes us different than most any other discord server I’ve ever seen. To be honest, Valhalla for some people is way more about those interactions than it is about the trading and I understand and appreciate that. This community is about way more than just trading for me as well. Its a vehicle for good, no matter how that actually ends up presenting itself in peoples lives.
Keeping this in mind, I understand why people are a bit confused by the recent move to push stricter moderation during market hours as I previewed in my recent post: Getting back on track
But there is a reason. With all the memestock chaos going on, trading-floor is more organized and calm than ever before. The information is hitting its mark, people are getting to ask meaningful questions and not get droned out and the moves that the community is making are ever more apparent. During the trading day, we should be a trading server first and foremost and we’re getting there. There will be a “equilibrium” that we meet where everyone knows that we can have some fun intraday but get right back on topic, but while we all learn what is and isn’t right, there might be a few growing pains. However, in the long run, as the average profitability of each member of our community continues to increase, those pains will absolutely be deemed worthwhile.
To the general members; use common sense. If there is a question you can answer yourself, you should probably seek the answer yourself. If you’re just looking to be negative, your comments aren’t needed. We’re here to trade, we’re here to profit and anything that detracts from that during the day needs to be avoided. We definitely need to start building a better knowledgeable here on the forum which is something I’d like to put more attention towards and we’re continuing some of our projects in the background to make the community “smarter” overall, but until all that happens, have patience and use common sense like I said.
The moderators are all doing a fantastic job and are doing exactly what was asked of them. As TF gets more orderly, things will start to loosen a little, but keep in mind, we’re focused between 9:30 and 4PM.
However, the second that bell rings at 4PM it’s gay hours and as we all know… the Valhalla we all know and love is alive and well
