MTAC - Future of Orthopaedics and Healthcare Innovation

Disclosure: I have 100 shares of MTAC

Hey everybody, @G700 here. Wanted to make this post per my comment in the Discord regarding the SPAC, MTAC - MedTech Acquisition Corporation. This isn’t so much of a DD, but rather for you guys to keep it on your watch list, especially if you’re the type of person interested investing in innovation and healthcare.

The SPAC was created with one of my mentors, Dr. Martin W. Roche from Fort Lauderdale, FL along with several of his associates that he has known within the healthcare world for the past 15-20 years.

Dr. Roche has a very solid track record of bringing innovation into the Orthopaedic realm. He was one of the pioneers introducing robotic-assisted surgery for patients undergoing hip and knee replacements parterning with MAKO Surgical a couple of decades ago.

This invention was subsequently purchased from Stryker for a very large amount per my conversation with Roche. Recently, Roche’s second invention, OrthoSensor was also acquired by Stryker in January of last year. Ivan Delevic, who was the CEO of OrthoSensor is now also involved with MTAC along with Roche. In short, Roche has a solid track record with his visions and bringing them to fruition.

Speaking to him at our local annual conference in Chicago a couple of weeks ago, Roche did mention that he plans to partner with a robotic assisted company. Roche is also working with McLaren, yes, the car company, on bringing new ideas of wear-able technology following surgery. As such, I strongly do believe that Roche could possibly be wanting to parter with a robotic company &/or somebody that is creating wearables to track patients after their surgery, such as TracPatch.

The ticker is currently trading at $9.83 with almost no volume, with a 52-week high of $10.30. Unfortunately, their deal with Memic Innovation recently fell though, bringing the stock price of MTAC below NAV. I think keeping this in your WatchList will certainly pay dividends down the road with the success of what Roche has done for the past 15-20 years.
