I’m practicing selling puts and it is a bit new to me. I sold an AMD put and rolled it a few times until it expired out of the money and although my cash is higher then I started it is taking up 5k of my options buying power, and I want to understand why before I go into the real market.

Update: Option BP now is N/A.
What is the question here?
If you’re out of that position the buying power will be returned after settlement.
Ended up just being an OnDemand bug on thinkorswim. The problem was that the option debt was persisting past expiration, although it should have cleared and updated to the new value.
